CENTREVILLE, Md.- The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that heavily damaged a Queen Anne’s County duplex on Friday afternoon.
Investigators say a passerby notice the fire at 327 N. Liberty St. in Centreville at around 2:30 p.m. in the two-story, wood-framed structure.
Firefighters from the Goodwill Fire Department responded and had the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
Damage to the home and its contents is estimated to be about $150,000. There were no reported injuries.
No one was hurt and it was not immediately known if the home’s smoke alarm had activated.
The fire started in the home’s interior but the cause remains under investigation.
